Risk Management Course

This course is designed for Safety Managers/Officers or those who will play a major role in the analysis and development of a Company Risk Management Process – a mandatory section of CASA’s Safety Management Systems program.

It is also an invaluable course for ALL persons within the organisation as it provides a sound background in Risk identification, mitigation and management.

  • What is a hazard?
  • What is a risk?
  • What is risk management?

Not sure? We undertake risk assessments every day in not only our personal but also professional lives. How fast we drive in the conditions of the day, the weather conditions we accept for a flight, the fuel we carry are all examples of risk assessments. However we must, in the development of a compliant and effective Safety Management System undertake and document such processes for not only daily situations but also the identification and rectification of hazards and risks in order that their impact on our organisation is minimized and mitigated to the highest level possible. The procedures and systems in place must be such that not only we, as managers or safety team members understand and utilise them but so too do those that work day to day within our organisations.

This course will enable participants to return to their organisations with a clear understanding of hazards and risks and the means of identifying, recording and mitigating these factors within an effective Safety Management System.

Practical tools and templates are discussed and developed such that each participant is able to customise these to their specific needs and organisation.
